Schneewittchen

This is my submission to Summer/ Nationality Contest For which I chose the Nationality option.

Since Snow White is a German fairytale written by the Brothers Grimm, I decided to keep some Disney elements and portray her with a German nationality. To achieve this, I chose to draw Snow White in a traditional German dirndl dress. I kept her hairstyle from Disney though. The mountain range at the top is the German Alps and the castle in the distance is the one her prince carries her to (for which I referenced Neuschwanstein Castle). In also keeping with Disney, I added the rabbits at the bottom, from the scene where her gentle side is shown singing among the wildlife.

In addition, I titled the piece "Snow White" in German.

The frame was added in Photoshop, and I chose a floral border to symbolize the many flowers that were laid about her glass coffin.

Done on 9x12 Strathmore sketch paper with 2H pencils, 005 and 03 black mircon pens, and Prismacolor and Crayola colored pencils
Reference of Kim Kardashian at Octoberfest was used for the pose and dress
